Works of Mercy: Acts of Love, 2009-10 Program Book
 |
| Works of Mercy: Acts of Love |
Each chapter addresses one or more of the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy through prayer, Scripture reflection and social inquiry. In the course of the social inquiry, families observe their experiences and the experiences of their neighbors, far and near. Then, judge these experiences in light of Christ’s teaching. Actions are suggested which put our faith to work transforming homes, parishes, and communities through love, service, education, and example....

CFM Weekly Column Wins 2009 Award
CFM's weekly column, "Taking the Time to Make a Difference," written by former executive director Paul Leingang, has again won an award from the Catholic Press Association of United States and Canada for excellence in spirituality. Paul's column received a second place award in the 2009 competition. The citation read in part, "These articles are about things all lay people go through. It's nice to know someone is thinking about the same things." Congratulations (for the second year in a row!), Paul.
We have begun podcasting the column as of October 2009. Take the time now to listen or read and send comments to the CFM USA Office.

| What is CFM? |
 |
| CFM Logo |
Christian Family Movement is a national network of parish/neighborhood
small groups of Catholics and their families. Parents meet regularly in one
another's homes or at the parish. Through the use of programming and the dynamics of group interaction, Christian values are reinforced and families are encouraged to reach out in action to others. "All I really want is to be happy," my friend said to me. At age 32 he had earned a Ph.D., got a good job, and bought a house. Now he just wanted to find someone who could tell him how to be happy. Don't we all? Just tell us how to be happy.
"Do something for someone else." CFM families know that when we think about others and their needs, we forget about our own troubles. When we try to help someone else, we suddenly discover that we are happy too. CFM families join with other families in our Action Groups to put love into action... |
